|It is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the sudden passing away of Dave Anderson, Chipperfield Clarendon’s 1st team umpire on Sunday 20th July. Dave was a much loved and respected man throughout Hertfordshire cricket and had only umpired the previous day. It has come as a great shock and at this time our thoughts are with his wife Joan and his family. We will let people know of the funeral arrangements through this site.|
|It is with great sadness that I also have to inform of the untimely death of Preston CC’s David Allen, during Thursday’s Herts 2s match vs Surrey at Maori Oxshott.
David had just completed his second over when he collapsed. A number of our players were qualified first-aiders and performed intensive CPR, until the arrival of the ambulances. The ambulance crews worked to save him, but to no avail. This was Dave’s first season playing Herts 50s cricket. He had quickly become a key member of our attack and was a delightful person to have in the team. He will be sorely missed.|
